15th May 2007 - Teignbridge Reach Propeller Design Milestone

Teignbridge Propellers have reached a milestone in propeller designs by accruing more than 15,000 individual propeller designs.

Each of the 15,000 propeller drawings are kept filed at the company’s head office in the UK. “Whether for current production or after-sales, this library of propeller drawings is accessed on a daily basis to provide technical data for our customers. It is a tremendous resource, which is highly valued by our boat builder and boat owner customers".

"Early propeller designs made use of BBC and Acorn computers and patterns were hand crafted from wood. Today Teignbridge employs the latest in-house developed design software in conjunction with Delcam and Rhino 3-D Modelling software for the CNC 5-axis pattern mill. These facilitate the rapid production of highly accurate patterns made from wood, plastics & resins, which result in correspondingly highly accurate & repeatable propellers.

The 15,000 propeller designs reflect the history of Teignbridge since it’s foundation, with early files being dominated by designs for Princess, Sunseeker, Fairline & other UK customers. Today propellers are being designed and supplied to major boat builders throughout the world, as well as UK boat builders".
