Teignbridge
invests US $2 million on expansion
Teignbridge Propellers are
delighted to announce expansion and upgrade plans worth nearly $2 million
dollars.
The plans allow for the
relocation and upgrade of the firm's foundry from the existing Decoy Industrial
Estate site, to the main head office site at Brunel Industrial Estate, and
includes new manufacturing systems and processes. Part of the new process will
be sand reclamation, currently 100% of the sand used in the foundry is sent for
landfill, this investment will allow up to 90% of this sand to be reclaimed,
good not only for the environment but also the balance sheet. In addition the
investment allows upgrading of the extraction and filtration systems throughout
the factory which will provide enhanced working conditions for all employees.
"This is a significant
investment in Teignbridge from Mercury Marine our US parent, and it is a
massive vote of confidence in all the members of staff of the company, particularly
when bearing in mind the tough trading conditions currently prevailing in the
US" said an extremely proud Jonathan Shaw, Managing Director of
Teignbridge, adding "this major financial commitment will allow the
company to unite under 1 roof for the first time in 18 years, with obvious
benefits to morale, efficiency and quality, and is in addition to the recently
announced investment in the latest high speed CNC machine tools."
